Why Our Mystery Shopping Prices Aren’t a Mystery

SkilCheck Mystery Shop Pricing

If you have ever visited SkilCheck’s website looking for mystery shopping services, you may have noticed something that isn’t always easy to find on other mystery shopping companies’ websites, which is our pricing.

We don’t make extra work for you.  Other mystery shopping companies require you to schedule a sales call to find out what a mystery shop costs. We don’t ask you to fill out a form and wait for someone to contact you. And we don’t hide the numbers behind a “Request a Quote” button. Our prices are transparent to our customers. We publish our mystery shopping pricing directly on our website for both self-storage and apartment mystery shopping services.

We believe businesses should understand what a service costs before deciding whether they want to learn more. Mystery shopping is designed to create greater transparency about the customer experience, so it only makes sense to us to provide that same transparency to our prospective clients.  And if your company uses our services, they know it is not your company’s opinion, but a non-biased view of how well your employees are selling and servicing your customers.

Why Are Mystery Shopping Prices So Often Difficult to Find?

Many companies in the service industry don’t publish pricing online. There can be legitimate reasons for that. Services may be customized, pricing structures can vary, and every client’s needs may be different. Mystery shopping can certainly involve some of those variables.

A company with one location has very different needs from an operator with 100 locations. A management company may want to evaluate one sales office to check on the employee’s effectiveness, while another may want an ongoing mystery shopping program across an entire portfolio.

Even with those differences, we don’t believe the basic cost of a mystery shop needs to be a mystery.

Publishing our standard pricing gives prospective clients a starting point. You can see what we charge, determine whether it fits within your budget, and then decide whether you want to have a conversation with us.

We Want to Make It Easier to Research Mystery Shopping

Most people research a company online long before they ever make contact. So, if you’re comparing mystery shopping companies or researching mystery shopping services, chances are you want answers to some basic questions:

❓What services do they offer?
❓What does the process include?
❓Do they charge for changes to the evaluation form?
❓Does the company understand my industry?
❓What will I receive from the mystery shop?
❓Is there an actual person proofing the shop, or is it AI?
❓Are the shops recorded?
❓And, of course, how much does it cost?

We don’t think you should give us your name, email address, phone number, company name, number of locations, and half your life story just to get an answer to that last question.

We want you to be able to easily do your research first.

If you decide SkilCheck looks like the right fit, then we would love to talk with you.

Here Are Som Things You May be Looking fr in Your Mystery Shopping Company

  • Are you concerned about how your employees handle telephone leads in a timely and effective manner?
  • Do you want to know whether prospective customers are being invited to tour your location?
  • Are your employees asking the right questions and attempting to close the sale?
  • Do you want to evaluate the complete customer experience on the phone and during an in-person visit?

Mystery Shopping Should Be About Value, Not Just Price

Being transparent about our prices doesn’t mean we believe price is the only factor when selecting a mystery shopping company. Quite the opposite. Two mystery shops with the same price can provide very different levels of value. SkilCheck lets all our clients use any of our forms or customize their employee evaluation forms.

At SkilCheck, the mystery shop itself is only part of the process. We believe the real value comes from what you can learn from the results and how you can use that information to improve employee performance.

A mystery shopping report should help your supervisors to identify opportunities for coaching and training. It should show you what your employees are doing well, where opportunities are being missed, and what the customer is experiencing.  And, since SkilCheck evaluators don’t know your employees, they are impartial.

That’s especially important when one telephone call or one interaction with a prospective customer can make the difference between gaining or losing a customer or tenant.

The Same Philosophy Applies to Self-Storage and Apartment Mystery Shops

SkilCheck works with both self-storage operators and apartment communities, and although the sales and leasing processes aren’t identical, there are many similarities. In both industries, prospective customers have choices. They may call several self-storage facilities looking for a unit. An apartment prospect may contact multiple communities before deciding where to tour or submit an application.  That makes the quality of the interaction incredibly important.

Our self-storage mystery shops help operators evaluate how employees communicate with prospective tenants, uncover needs, explain features and benefits, invite the customer to rent, and follow up on sales opportunities.

Our apartment mystery shops help management companies evaluate the leasing experience, including telephone interactions, property visits, tours, professionalism, and the overall customer experience when visiting the property.

No guessing. No wondering whether the price changes depending on who asks. No sales conversation required just to get a number.

Our mystery shopping prices aren’t a mystery — and we intend to keep it that way.
